What OPTrace does

A plate that cannot be imitated, data that is well kept.

From the field to the counter, every step is checked and then recorded. The answer at a check is one word and one colour, so officers can decide without hesitation.

Why a signed QR code

Copying a QR code gets you nowhere.

Every QR code is digitally signed before printing, with a key only the server holds. A modified or invented QR code is rejected at the first scan; a copied one stays tied to the same vehicle and the same plate. And because the signature is checked on the officer's phone, authenticity can be verified even where there is no network.

How it works

Three steps, from the printer to the owner.

Every plate follows the same path. At each step, the information is checked and then recorded.

01Printing
A signed QR code on every plate
Each plate receives a unique QR code, signed before printing. No one can make a fake that passes a check.
02Field
Linking to the vehicle
The officer scans the QR code and reads the laser number and the registration. All three are linked: the plate can no longer move to another vehicle.
03Counter
Registration and handover
The officer completes the owner's file: ID, photo, signature and proof of payment. The plate is handed over only when the file is complete.

Who uses OPTrace?

Only authorised officers: printer, field officers, counter staff, control officers and supervisors. Every account has a precise role and rights.

What happens if a plate is lost or stolen?

The supervisor cancels its QR code. At the next check, the plate shows as cancelled, with the reason. A new plate can then be issued.

Can a QR code be copied?

Copying it is pointless: it stays tied to the same vehicle and the same plate. A modified or invented QR code is rejected, because its signature does not match.

What personal data is recorded?

What is in the owner's file: identity, contact details, ID document, photo and signature. It is used only for plate traceability and is visible only to authorised officers.

Do checks work without a network?

Yes for authenticity: the QR code signature is checked on the phone. Vehicle details appear when a connection is available.
